X-Men: The Animated Series

It's Saturday morning, so what better thing to do than tune in to one of the greatest Saturday morning TV shows ever made?  In particular, we suggest you tune in to Season 3, Episodes 3-7 to enjoy the show's brilliant adaptation of The Phoenix Saga.  Masterfully handled, unlike other blundered attempts at the material (yes, we're looking at you X-Men 3: The Last Stand!).

Camelot

If you're looking for an amazing 10 hours of entertainment this weekend, look no further than Camelot.  This Showtime series is a wonderfully seductive take on the King Arthur story.  It follows the rivalry between Arthur and his half sister Morgan.  Every episode is brilliant.  Wonderful dialogue, fabulous acting, and beautifully shot.  The only downside is there is only one season to watch. The upside is, you can burn through that season in 48 hours!

Christopher Guest and company serve up healthy portions of laughter in this understated and fiendishly funny lampooning of dog shows.

I'm Still Here

Joaquin Phoenix takes an Andy Kaufman-esque turn in this cleverly staged performance, in which he "quits acting" to "pursue a rap career" and "goes headlong into a downward spiral." Phoenix and Affleck kept up the ruse for the entire year they filmed this, and well into the theatrical release. They've since let the cat out of the bag, and that's good - because it's too painful to watch if you didn't know it was constructed parody.

Between the Folds

You may never look at origami the same way after you watch this intriguing documentary, which features lush orchestration and fascinating commentary on this ancient art.

Robin Hood: Men in Tights

Mondays are tough.  What better way to get over the beginning of the work week gloom than a good slapstick romp?  If you've seen Men in Tights before, it bears a repeat viewing, especially for the goofily dated 90's references that abound (clap on/clap off, pump up shoes, and White Men Can't Jump, to name three).  And if you've never seen Men in Tights, what's wrong with you?  Watch it tonight - it's sure to put a smile on your face.

The always irascible (and always compelling) Gordon Ramsey shows a humbler side of himself, as he tours through India learning to cook more authentic curries. Part travel show, part cooking show, part cross-cultural encounter, this is something quite different from Ramsey's usual TV fare, and not to be missed.
